He is currently a Research Associate and Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Florida Center for Environmental Policy in the Department of Environmental Engineering. He became one of the first Life Cycle Assessment Certified Professionals (LCACPs) in the US in 2008. Workshop Facilitator Silvia Alvarez is getting her doctorate at the University of Florida in Ecosystem Ecology. She has received training in group facilitation through the program in Tropical Conservation and Development at UF. Her dissertation research regards nutrient cycling in tropical forests. She is conducting this research at the forest reserve at EARTH University in Costa Rica. Team Members Diego Acuna is a student in environmental law at the University of Costa Rica. He has a bachelors degree from UCR in eco-tourism. Carli Koshal is currently a 2nd year law student at the University of Florida. Milagros JeanCharles is a PhD student in Agricultural and Biological Engineering at the University of Florida. External Project Advisor Ana Quiros is the founder and president of the Association of Life Cycle Assessment in Latin America (ALCALA). She directs Eco Global S.A., advisors for sustainable development, based in San Jose, Costa Rica.
